Privacy Policy

Pydia LLC ("Pydia," "we," "us") makes software that independent enrichment teachers use to run their classes. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. It covers teachers who have Pydia accounts, parents and guardians who use Pydia, and visitors to getpydia.com.
1. Two roles
- For teachers' class records, the teacher is in charge. When you enroll a child with a teacher, that teacher decides what to collect and how to use it. Pydia stores and processes it for the teacher under our Data Processing Agreement. Requests to see, correct or delete enrollment records go to the teacher first.
- For Pydia's own accounts and website, Pydia is in charge. That includes teacher accounts and billing, family dashboard accounts, sign-in links, the ESA assistant, emails you sign up for, and site security.
2. What we collect

3. How we use it
- To provide the Service: profiles, enrollment, rosters, schedules, invoices, card payments, receipts, reminders and messages.
- To keep accounts and payments secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and limit repeated requests.
- To tell teachers when an email to a family didn't arrive, so they can fix the address.
- To bill teachers for their Pydia plan.
- To send marketing emails you signed up for (you can unsubscribe anytime).
- To understand how the site is used in total and fix errors.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell or rent personal information, share it for cross-site advertising, or use family or student information for advertising or profiling.

We may also disclose information to comply with law or legal process, to protect the safety, rights or property of people or Pydia, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (we will email affected users before their information is transferred).
5. How long we keep it

Deleted data is removed from backups as those backups expire (within 30 days).
6. Children
Pydia is not directed to children, and children don't use it. Parents and guardians provide limited information about their children so a teacher can run a class: name, date of birth, any allergy or medical notes they choose to share, and an emergency contact. We use it only to provide the Service to that teacher and family. To review, correct or delete your child's information, contact the teacher, or email support@getpydia.com and we will help within 30 days.
7. Security
We encrypt data in transit, restrict database access by account, keep uploaded credential documents private behind short-lived links, limit repeated requests, check uploaded files, and limit access to production systems to authorized Pydia personnel. Sign-in links work once and expire after an hour. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law (including Arizona Revised Statutes § 18-552).
8. Cookies and similar technology
We use only cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure, and your browser's local storage for conveniences such as remembering a setting. Our analytics are cookie-free and count page views in total. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and we don't respond to Do Not Track signals because we don't track you across sites.
9. The ESA assistant
Questions you type are sent to Anthropic to generate an answer. Please don't include personal details such as names or account numbers. Answers are general information from published handbooks, not advice.
10. Your choices and rights
- See, correct or delete your information: teachers in their account or by email; families through their teacher or by email.
- Teachers can export their student list at any time.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in any of them; turn off class reminders in your family dashboard.
- Depending on your state, you may have additional rights. Email support@getpydia.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
11. Changes
We will email account holders at least 14 days before a material change takes effect and show the effective date at the top of this page. Earlier versions are at getpydia.com/privacy/versions.
