Family Terms
Effective date: November 1, 2026
These Family Terms are an agreement between you and Pydia LLC ("Pydia," "we," "us"). They apply when you, as a parent or guardian, use Pydia: to enroll a child, join a waitlist, pay a teacher, use your family dashboard, or use the ESA assistant. By submitting a form, creating an account, signing in, or paying through Pydia, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.
1. Pydia is the software; your teacher provides the class
Pydia is software that independent teachers use to run their classes. The teacher you enroll with, not Pydia, provides the class, lesson or service, sets its price, schedule and policies (including refunds and cancellations), and is responsible for it, including supervising your child. Your agreement for the class itself is with the teacher. Pydia does not check, employ or endorse teachers, and is not a party to your dealings with them. Questions or concerns about a class go to the teacher; replying to any Pydia email from your teacher reaches them.
2. Information you give us
You must be at least 18. You confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or are authorized by them, and that the information you provide is accurate. You agree to receive these Terms, receipts and notices electronically. Information you give in an enrollment form is shared with that teacher, who uses it to run their class. How Pydia handles it is described in the Privacy Policy. Pydia is not intended for children to use; forms are completed by adults.
3. Paying a teacher by card
Card payments go directly to the teacher's own Stripe account. The teacher is the seller; Pydia does not receive or hold your money. Your card is charged only as shown and agreed to when you pay. Card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored by Pydia.
Monthly card payments. If you agree to monthly card payments, your card is charged by the teacher on the billing day each month, for the amount and period described in the agreement you accept, until the schedule ends or you cancel. You will get:
- an email copy of what you agreed to;
- a reminder before each charge, and a receipt after it;
- at least 30 days' notice before your monthly amount goes up.
You can cancel monthly payments at any time from your family dashboard (the "Manage monthly payments" button in any monthly payment email takes you there). Cancelling stops future charges. Whether any payment already made is refunded depends on the teacher's refund policy; contact the teacher. If a charge fails, the teacher and Pydia will email you; if it isn't paid within 7 days, monthly payments stop and any amount still owed is between you and the teacher.
Refunds and disputes. Refunds are decided and issued by the teacher. Please contact the teacher before disputing a charge with your card company.
4. Education savings programs
If you pay with an education savings account or similar program (such as Arizona's ESA program through ClassWallet), you submit the teacher's invoice to the program yourself. Pydia does not decide whether a program approves or pays an invoice, and is not affiliated with any program, state agency or ClassWallet. The ESA assistant gives general information from published program handbooks; it is not legal, tax or financial advice, and the program's own rules and staff are the final word.
5. Your family account and sign-in links
You can use your family dashboard with a password or with sign-in links we email you. A sign-in link works once and expires after 1 hour. Don't forward it: anyone with it can open your account. Keep your password private and tell us at support@getpydia.com if you think someone else has used your account. Your dashboard shows records teachers keep under your email address; if a teacher has your email wrong, ask them to correct it.
6. Emails
Pydia sends emails for the teachers you enroll with (confirmations, invoices, receipts, reminders and their messages) and, if you have an account, about your account. You can turn off class reminders in your dashboard. Payment, invoice and account emails can't be turned off while you have an active enrollment or payment, because they are part of the service you signed up for.
7. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Pydia: no false information, no using someone else's account or payment card without permission, no attempts to access information that isn't yours, and nothing illegal or harmful.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Pydia provides the software "as is" and does not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Pydia is not responsible for any class, teacher, or what happens during a class. To the fullest extent the law allows, Pydia is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and Pydia's total liability to you is limited to $100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.
9. Disputes
Arizona law governs these Terms, except where the law of your state of residence requires otherwise. Please contact support@getpydia.com first; we will try to resolve any concern within 30 days. Claims may be brought in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona, or in small claims court where you live.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects you, we will email you before it takes effect. Earlier versions are available at getpydia.com/family-terms/versions.
