Private Music Lessons (Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Piano) — Class Policies

Private Lesson Policies Registration & Enrollment Enrollment is confirmed once registration is completed and the first payment is received. Lesson times are reserved exclusively for each student and are held on a recurring weekly basis. Tuition & Payment Tuition is due at the beginning of each month. Monthly tuition reserves your student's lesson time and instructor availability. Payments not received within 7 days of the due date may incur a late fee. Lessons may be suspended until the account is brought current. Cancellation Policy Because lesson times are reserved specifically for each student, a minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations. Student Cancellations Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice may be eligible for a make-up lesson if scheduling permits. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged as a completed lesson and are not eligible for a make-up lesson. No-shows will be charged the full lesson fee. Illness Please do not attend lessons if your child has: Fever within the previous 24 hours Vomiting or diarrhea within the previous 24 hours A contagious illness If illness prevents attendance and notice is provided as soon as possible, a virtual lesson or make-up lesson may be offered when feasible. Instructor Cancellations If the instructor must cancel due to illness, emergency, or scheduling conflict, a make-up lesson or credit will be provided. Attendance & Punctuality Students should arrive on time and prepared. Lessons will end at the scheduled time, even if a student arrives late. Time lost due to tardiness cannot be extended into another student's lesson. Practice Expectations Progress depends greatly on consistent practice between lessons. Students are encouraged to: Follow weekly assignments Bring all materials to lessons Practice regularly at home Recommended Practice Times Beginners: 10–15 minutes, 5 days per week Intermediate: 20–30 minutes, 5 days per week Advanced: 30+ minutes, 5–6 days per week Withdrawal Policy A two-week written notice is required to discontinue lessons. Tuition already paid is non-refundable. Students may continue lessons during the notice period. Parent Communication Parents are encouraged to communicate questions, scheduling concerns, or progress updates. Regular communication helps ensure the best experience for each student. Lesson Formats Offered Private lessons are available in: Violin Viola Cello Bass Piano Lesson Rates Private Lessons: $40 per lesson ESA funds accepted through Peterson Performance and Coaching Our goal is to provide high-quality instruction in a positive, encouraging environment where students develop musical skills, confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of music.
