Peterson Elementary Orchestra

Beginning Violin Class — Class Policies

Enrollment Commitment & Cancellation Policy: At Peterson Performance and Coaching, orchestra classes are structured as a full ensemble program. Consistent attendance and long-term commitment help create a successful learning environment for all students. Semester Commitment: Enrollment in the orchestra program is a semester commitment. By registering, families are reserving a spot for the entire semester. Semester dates will follow the QCUSD school calendar. Tuition & Reserved Spot: Monthly tuition reserves your student’s place in the ensemble and covers: * Weekly rehearsals/classes * Ensemble instruction * Concert preparation * Music and classroom materials * Program planning and reserved class size Because class spots are limited, tuition is based on enrollment rather than attendance. Withdrawal Policy: Families wishing to withdraw before the end of the semester must provide 30 days written notice. If a student withdraws mid-semester, the family is responsible for: * The current month’s tuition, and * A withdrawal fee equal to 50% of one month’s tuition This policy helps protect the stability of the ensemble and allows adequate time to fill reserved class spots. Missed Classes: No refunds or make-up classes will be provided for student absences, vacations, extracurricular activities, or scheduling conflicts. Instructor Cancellations: If the instructor must cancel a class due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, a make-up class, alternate assignment, or be taught by a substitute teacher. Concert Participation: Concert performances are considered part of the curriculum. Students are strongly encouraged to attend all scheduled performances and rehearsals. Non-Payment: Tuition more than 10 days late may result in temporary suspension from classes until the account is brought current. Program Changes: Peterson Performance and Coaching reserves the right to adjust schedules, class groupings, or program offerings as needed to best serve students and maintain healthy ensemble sizes.
